Puppy at the Wheel of a Dog Man Police Car
Coloring guide
Behind the steering wheel of a little police car sits a smiling floppy-eared puppy, paws gripping the wheel and tongue sticking out in a big grin. The car has a star-shaped badge on the hood and another on the door, round headlights, a grille and a flashing siren light on the roof with short rays around it. A house with a chimney on each side, a tall street lamp, a fence, a leafy bush and dashed road lines on the pavement sit behind the car. Large shapes and bold lines suit preschoolers and early elementary kids. Red and blue for the siren and yellow badges will help the car stand out against the quiet neighborhood. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big blue areas: fill the car body, the doors, and the front panel with royal blue, then color the top of the siren light fire red and leave its base white.
- 2Color the house walls next: the left house in pale yellow and the right house in light blue, with the roofs and chimney in coral red and the windows in sky blue.
- 3Fill the puppy with caramel brown for the ears and face, cream for the muzzle, and light tan for the paws, keeping the eye whites and teeth white.
- 4Add the bush and grass with bright green and lime green, the lamp post in forest green with a lemon yellow top, and the tires and steering wheel in charcoal gray.
- 5Color the headlights lemon yellow, the badges golden yellow on medium blue shields, and the grille and front bumper light gray, leaving the hood and mirrors white.
- 6Optional: add a little shading with a slightly darker shade of each color on the car body and the puppy's ears for extra depth.
