Leaf Umbrella and Frog Friend, Blastoise Turtle in the Rain
Coloring guide
Standing in a puddle with raindrops falling all around, a smiling baby turtle holds a big leaf over its head like an umbrella. A tiny frog grins from the top of the shell, next to a small bottle-shaped spout with a few drops splashing off it. The turtle has big sparkly eyes, an open happy mouth, a striped belly and a patterned shell. Two spotted mushrooms and small tufts of grass sit on either side, and ripples spread across the puddle by its feet. Thick, clean outlines and large open spaces suit younger kids, so it makes a good free printable for a rainy day. Try bright leaf green for the umbrella, soft blue for the raindrops, and red caps with white spots on the mushrooms. It was filed under Blastoise, but the character here is a cute turtle rather than a Pokemon. Love this Blastoise coloring page? You might also enjoy our Charmander and Squirtle coloring pages.

A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Color the big leaf umbrella and its stem leaf green, then fill the turtle's head, hands and front feet with yellow green.
- 2Fill the turtle's belly bands with golden yellow and color the arms lime green.
- 3Color the shell plates in leaf green and forest green, keeping the shell rim and edges in the same tones.
- 4Paint the puddles, raindrops and frog body with sky blue and pale lime, then add bright red caps and cream yellow stems to the mushrooms.
- 5Fill the bottle top light gray and the bottle cap slate gray, color the frog's mouth coral pink, and finish the toes in cream yellow. Leave the eye shines and mushroom spots white.
- 6Optional: Add a little darker shading along the shell edges and under the leaf to make the drawing look more dimensional.
