A basket and a slatted wooden crate sit side by side, both packed with fall produce, and the whole scene is turned on its side on the page. You can spot ear of corn with the husks peeled back, bunches of grapes, bell peppers, broccoli or cauliflower heads, an eggplant, a cabbage, leafy greens, and a few wheat stalks tucked in. The big shapes and clear outlines make this easy for kids to color. Turn the page to whatever angle you like before you start. Try sorting the colors by vegetable: yellow for the corn, purple for the grapes and eggplant, and red, orange, or green for the peppers.
