Hatching Baby Sea Turtles Under a Crescent Moon

Coloring guide
It's nighttime, and three smiling baby turtles are peeking out of cracked eggshells. Two hatchlings sit in the back, one on each side, and the third sits up front with its flippers resting on the broken shell. One whole egg beside it hasn't hatched yet. Every turtle has big shiny eyes and an open happy mouth, and the shells and flippers have small scale shapes that are fun to color in. Sandy mounds dotted with tiny pebbles, tall grass blades on both sides and a crescent moon in the sky finish the scene. Soft greens on the turtles and warm yellow on the moon will give it a gentle glow. Little ones who love baby animals should enjoy this free printable, and the large shapes are easy for small hands. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the grass blades and the turtles' heads and bodies in leaf green and pale yellow green, leaving the eggs and the background white.
- 2Color the golden yellow patch of shell between the two top turtles and the edge of the bottom egg.
- 3Fill the turtles' shells and flippers with forest green and lime green, alternating shades so each shell section looks distinct.
- 4Color the open mouths of the three turtles coral pink, and leave the eye whites and the small shine spots white.
- 5Optional: add a few darker leaf green strokes on the grass and shell edges to create depth.
