Coloring guide
Four smiling baby sea turtles hurry across a sandy beach toward the ocean. Two of them are still close to the nest, peeking out of sandy mounds next to cracked, broken eggshells, while the other two crawl ahead with their flippers stretched out. The big turtle in the foreground has a patterned shell and spotted flippers, so it is a fun one to color. Around them on the sand you'll find a scallop shell, spiral seashells, a starfish with dotted arms, small pebbles, and shell fragments. Wavy lines show the water at the top right, and a little cloud floats in the corner of the sky. Soft greens could work on the turtle shells, with sunny orange on the starfish. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the sea and waves at the top right: color the water sky blue and the small ripple lines pale blue.
- 2Fill the sand areas and the eggshells with cream, and use pale yellow for the sandy patches on the left.
- 3Color the turtle heads, flippers and bodies pale green, adding grass green along the edges and shading lines.
- 4Color the turtle shells chestnut brown, using caramel and light brown on the lighter plates, and make the sea shells rose pink, pale blue, and lavender.
- 5Add tangerine to the spiral shell on the right and bright orange to the starfish, and use beige and warm gray for the pebbles and small sand rocks.
- 6Optional: add butter yellow to the turtle bellies and soft lime to the flipper spots for extra detail, leaving the small dots white.
