Valentine Chocolates in a Heart Box

On a table sits an open heart-shaped candy box, its lid propped up behind it and tied with a big ribbon bow. Nine chocolates nestle inside ruffled paper cups. Some are round truffles with stripes, swirls or sprinkled dots, and one has a flower on top. A heart-topped chocolate sits in the middle with a small square chocolate and its tiny heart beside it. Three more sweets are scattered in front of the box: a striped heart-shaped chocolate, a square chocolate with a heart, and a dotted truffle in a paper cup. Simple table lines run across the background. Milk, dark and white chocolate browns work for the candies, and bright red or pink would look great on the lid and bow. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Color the big heart-shaped box lid, its front side and the inner rim of the box with bright red, leaving the background white.
- 2Fill the bow, its tails and the ribbon band across the lid with candy pink.
- 3Color the chocolates in chocolate brown, rust brown and dark brown, and leave a few cream yellow and off white spots on the top truffles and cream drizzle lines.
- 4Color the pink paper cups around the chocolates with candy pink and soft pink, and fill the heart candy with candy pink and its center heart with bright red.
- 5Color the flower cookie in golden yellow with a bright red center, and add the square chocolates in coral pink and candy pink with a bright red heart on top.
- 6Optional: add slightly darker shading along the box edges and under the chocolates, and keep the floor and background white.
