Open Heart Chocolate Box for Valentine's Day

An open heart-shaped box of chocolates has its lid tilted up behind it and a big ribbon bow at the lower right corner. Nine candies sit inside ruffled paper cups. Some are round truffles with a swirl, sprinkles, stripes or wavy lines. Two are square chocolates, one with a small heart and one with a daisy. The rest are heart-shaped, one with diagonal stripes and one with a heart inside a heart. A few small outlined hearts float around the box. Large, clearly separated shapes make this a good page for kids who enjoy a little detail but still want room for crayons. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Color the bow, its knot, and the outer edges of the box and lid with bright red, leaving the small gap between the bow and the box white.
- 2Fill the inside of the lid and the bottom side of the box with deep red.
- 3Color the inner floor of the box and the rims around the chocolates with blush pink.
- 4Fill the square chocolates, the round chocolates and the wavy chocolate with chocolate brown, then add mauve rose stripes to the middle chocolate.
- 5Color the top and bottom heart chocolates with raspberry pink and soft pink, and leave the swirl centers and the bottom cream chocolate in cream.
- 6Optional: add darker shading on the lower edges of the bow and the box to make the box look rounded.
