Heavy Machine Gun Soldier in Halo Armor
Coloring guide
Knees bent and feet planted wide, this heavily armored soldier hugs a big mounted machine gun across his body. The Halo-style suit has chunky shoulder plates, a rounded helmet with a visor, two small antenna-like prongs on top, and thick boots and knee guards. The long barrel points off to the right, and you'll find boxy panels and a magazine housing around the middle. Nothing else is on the page, so the figure stands alone on white and the armor panels get all the attention. Olive green works well for the suit, with a gold visor and gray or black on the weapon. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Fill the large main armor areas of the helmet, chest, shoulders, arms and legs with olive green, leaving the visor area and the small white highlights for later.
- 2Use light olive green on the bright patches of the helmet top and the top of the shoulder pads, and dark olive green on the shaded plates of the arms and the darker sections of the chest.
- 3Color the gun, the ammo box, the lower leg plates and the knee areas with medium gray, and use light gray on the gun's bright edges and the boot soles.
- 4Fill the dark seams, the gun grip, the bracket details and the wrist bands with charcoal black and dark slate gray, and keep the visor and the small shine spots white.
- 5Optional: add a few darker strokes along the edges of the armor plates to make them look more rounded and metallic.
