A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.

1. 1Color the basketball orange, leaving the thin black lines between the panels as they are.
2. 2Fill the toe caps, heel sections and sides of both sneakers with bright red, keeping the perforated toe areas white.
3. 3Color the collar linings and the areas inside the laces royal blue, then add bright blue and light blue patches for variety.
4. 4Keep the laces, eyelets and side panels white so the lacing stands out against the colored sections.
