Peeking over the edge of a woven hot air balloon basket, a happy puppy in a pilot's helmet and big round goggles rests its paws on the rim while a scarf blows out behind its neck. The balloon above is split into wide vertical panels that are perfect for stripes or patterns. Far below, a small village nestles among rolling hills with a church steeple, several little houses, round trees, a wooden fence and a winding path, and a few puffy clouds drift across the sky. This free printable suits kids who like a mix of big open areas and small details. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big balloon panels: fill the top middle panel with lemon yellow, the next panel with bright red, the blue panel with sky blue, and the left panel with tangerine orange. Paint the blue band under the balloon sky blue and the balloon edges golden orange.
- 2Color the basket and every woven square with caramel brown, and fill the two sandbags hanging on the sides with light tan.
- 3Fill the dog's head, body, chest, muzzle and paws with light gold, then color the ears and tail golden orange. Leave the background around the head and basket white.
- 4Color the helmet chocolate brown, the scarf bright red, the goggle lenses light tan and the tongue rose pink.
- 5Fill the hills and grass with lime green, the bushes and trees with forest green or dark green, and the clouds with pale sky blue. Finish the village houses with bright red roofs and ivory walls. Optional: add a little shading with a darker tone of each color for depth.
