Joy and Sadness Train Ride Through the Mind, Inside Out Coloring Page
Coloring guide
Joy and Sadness are perched side by side on the curved roof of a little train car. Joy has short spiky hair and a sleeveless dress with daisy-style flowers, and she leans forward with an open smile, looking off to the side. Sadness sits close by with her bob haircut, round glasses and chunky turtleneck sweater, hands folded in her lap and eyes turned upward. The train curves along a track in the lower left, and you can clearly see its round headlight, square windows and wheels. Tall pedestal-shaped platforms holding big round orbs stand behind them, with fluffy clouds all around. Yellow for Joy's dress and cool blues for Sadness's sweater would suit them, and soft pastel swirls inside the orbs look nice too. Print the free PDF at home for a quiet creative moment. This fits right in with our Inside Out coloring pages — see also Num Noms and Unikitty.

A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big background: fill the bushes and trees around the scene with leafy green, and color the right-side orb in royal blue.
- 2Color the tram roof and lower side panels in warm yellow, then fill the front and red trim areas with coral red.
- 3Fill the tram windows and the girl's dress with sky blue, leaving the little flower shapes white.
- 4Color the boy's and girl's hair in light brown and the girl's hair back in tangerine, then add lavender purple to the girl's sweater and deep purple to her pants.
- 5Add peach skin to the faces, arms, legs and hands, and color the mushroom tops and stems in pale yellow and butter yellow.
- 6Optional: add a little darker shading to the sweater and roof edges for depth. Keep the eye whites, shoes and track background white.
