Three Costumed Kids Trick-or-Treating at the Front Door

Coloring guide
At an open front door, a smiling woman leans forward to drop a wrapped candy into the bucket of one of the trick-or-treaters waiting on her porch. Her other arm holds a big bowl heaped with candy. The three children face her with their backs partly turned to us. There's a girl in a tall witch hat and cape, a child in a bat costume with pointed ears and wide wings, and a child dressed as a pumpkin with a leafy collar and a pumpkin hat. Every one of them has a jack-o'-lantern candy bucket. To the right sits a glowing carved pumpkin, and a lantern hangs on the wall, with bushes and porch steps rounding out the scene. Warm oranges would look great on the pumpkin costume and the jack-o'-lantern, and deep purple suits the witch's hat and the bat wings. It's a free printable for a screen-free afternoon. - 1Start with the big areas: color the open front door and its inner panel pale butter yellow, and fill the siding walls, porch steps and lantern area warm light gray.
- 2Color the woman's sweater violet purple and her jeans sky blue, then fill her hair with dark amber brown and the boy's hair with chocolate brown.
- 3Use pumpkin orange for the candy bowl, the big jack-o-lantern, the pumpkin costume, its hat and the three treat pails, leaving the carved faces for last.
- 4Fill the bushes and the green sleeves and collar with leaf green, and color the blonde girl's hair golden yellow.
- 5Color the witch's hat and cloak charcoal black, add the violet hat band and purple skirt, then fill the bat wings steel gray and the boy's costume slate gray.
- 6Optional: add a few darker strokes along the edges of the shapes for depth, and keep the eyes, teeth and small highlights white.
