Kids' Parade With Flag and Drum for Presidents' Day

Coloring guide
Three smiling kids march along a cobblestone street in this cheerful parade scene. The boy in the middle waves a tall flag with stripes and a row of stars across the top, and he's wearing a bow tie and a sash across his chest. On the left, a girl with a ponytail plays a snare drum with two drumsticks. On the right, a boy in suspenders, shorts and a bow tie tips a tall top hat decorated with stars and stripes. Triangle bunting hangs across the street behind them, with houses, flower boxes, trees, bushes and a picket fence along the sides, and flowers and confetti scattered on the ground. It's handy for Presidents' Day lessons or a rainy-day family printable. Red and blue stripes on the hat and bright yellow on the drum will help the marching band stand out. Big shapes suit younger kids, and the street details keep older kids busy. Kids who like Presidents' Day coloring pages usually enjoy Happy Birthday and Cupid (Valentine's) too.

A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the sky and background: color the sky sections with sky blue, and fill the tree leaves with grass green and leaf green.
- 2Color the houses and windows: butter yellow for the left house walls and roofs, and ice blue for the right house, leaving the window frames white.
- 3Fill the flag with royal blue on the top and bottom stripes and cherry red on the middle stripe, keeping the white stripe and star outlines white.
- 4Add skin tones with peach beige on the faces, arms and legs, then use chestnut brown for the boy's hair and golden yellow for the girl's ponytail and the right boy's hair.
- 5Color the clothes: royal blue for the boy's vest and shorts, cherry red for the girl's dress and the right boy's shorts, and caramel brown for the boy's belt and carried pole. Leave the shirts, hat top and socks white.
- 6Finish with warm gray on the ground stones and drumstick, and cherry red on the drum. Optional: add a little darker shading under the stones and drum for depth.
