Kids' Parade With Drummer Boy for Presidents' Day

Right down the middle of a neighborhood street marches a smiling boy in a tall plumed hat and a buttoned band uniform, beating a big snare drum with two drumsticks. On his left a girl in a short-sleeved dress and Mary Jane shoes waves a flag, and on his right a curly-haired boy in a polo shirt and shorts waves another. More happy kids with flags follow behind. Large balloons float overhead, and pennant bunting is strung between the houses. Bushes, flowers, a street lamp and scattered confetti fill out the scene. The drum's zigzag pattern and the uniform's epaulettes give kids plenty of detail to work on. Red and blue for the uniform and drum, plus a bright yellow plume, would look great.
