Beach Ball Catch in the Garden: A Diversity & Inclusion Coloring Page
Coloring guide
A boy in a wheelchair and a girl with a ponytail toss a big striped ball back and forth, both grinning with their hands out ready to catch it. The boy has short tousled hair, a T-shirt and sneakers, and you can see the large spoked wheels and small front casters on his wheelchair. The girl wears a short-sleeved top, shorts and sneakers. A white picket fence and a leafy tree with a fluffy, cloud-shaped crown stand behind them, and little tufts of grass dot the lawn. This one makes it easy to chat with kids about playing together and including everyone. Red and yellow stripes on the ball will stand out against the green grass. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Fill the skin areas, including both faces, arms, hands, and the fence pickets, with peach, leaving the eye whites and the sock areas white.
- 2Color the girl's hair and ponytail golden yellow, then add golden yellow to one panel of the beach ball.
- 3Use bright blue for the boy's shirt, his pants, and one large panel of the beach ball.
- 4Fill the ball's top panel with bright red, the girl's shirt with rose pink, and her shorts with lavender purple.
- 5Color the boy's hair and the tree trunk chestnut brown, then fill the tree leaves at the top of the trunk and the grass patches with leaf green.
- 6Color the wheelchair wheels with charcoal gray for the spokes and hubs and light gray for the rims, using silver gray on the wheelchair frame. Optional: add a little slate gray shading on the wheels and shoes to make them pop.
