Playground Fun With Slide, Swings and Sandbox in the City
Coloring guide
One boy throws his arms up as he zooms down a playground slide, while two girls swing side by side on a nearby swing set. Up front, a boy and a girl with a ponytail kneel in a sandbox, filling buckets and digging with a small shovel beside a sandcastle and a sand mold. Two apartment buildings with flower-box balconies stand behind them, with bushes, trees, a puffy cloud and tufts of grass around. Big shapes mixed with small details make it work for a range of ages. Bright pinks and purples would suit the balcony flowers, and the buckets and shovel can get cheerful primary colors. Save this coloring page as a free PDF for a screen-free activity at home. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the lawn, trees and bushes: fill the grass and bushes with lime green and leafy green, keeping the cloud and sky background white.
- 2Color the sandbox wood frame with wood brown, then fill the sand and the sand castle with sand beige.
- 3Paint the slide with golden yellow and amber orange, the ladder with bright red and tangerine, and the building walls with butter yellow, adding light sky blue windows and coral pink roof trim.
- 4Color the swing frames and seats with royal blue and sky blue, and paint the blue bucket sky blue and the red bucket bright red.
- 5Fill the children: peach skin for faces, arms and legs, kelly green and lavender purple shirts, royal blue shorts, and chocolate brown, wood brown and golden yellow hair. Leave the eyes and the cloud white.
- 6Optional: add a little darker shading under the slide and along the sandbox edges to give the scene more depth.
