Splashy Pool Volleyball Party

Coloring guide
Six kids splash around a backyard pool while a volleyball sails over the net. A boy in swim trunks leans back and reaches up to hit the ball. On the other side, a curly-haired child and a girl with a ponytail cheer with their arms in the air. A long-haired girl smiles from the left edge, and two more kids, shown from behind, reach toward the action. One has a bun and the other has a bow on her swimsuit. Around the pool are a floral swim ring, an air mattress, a round float, a lounge chair, a patio umbrella with a drink on a small table, palm trees, bushes, a fence and a potted plant. All those ripples and splashes are good practice for loose, wavy strokes. Aqua blues for the water and a sunny yellow and orange pattern on the ball look cheerful together. - golden yellow
- caramel

A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the pool water: fill the big splashing areas and ripples with light turquoise, then add sky blue waves around the splashes and the edges of the pool.
- 2Color the boys' and girls' skin: use tan skin for the tall boy's body and the boy's arms, and light peach for the lighter skin of the other swimmers' arms and faces.
- 3Fill the boy's swim trunks with red, and the right girl's swimsuit with violet purple.
- 4Color the net posts with deep blue and the floating ring with ocean blue, leaving the net and the highlights on the ring white.
- 5Add the hair and details: golden yellow for the blond boy's hair, blush pink for the lounge chair cushion, and warm brown for the plant pot and the bottom-right swimmer's hair ties.
- 6Finish the greenery and sky: leaf green for the palm leaves, lime green for the bushes, and a pale gold touch on the volleyball panel. Optional: add a little darker blue shading in the deepest water to make it pop.
