Backyard Soccer and Jump Rope Day, Back to School Break
Coloring guide
Two boys pass a soccer ball in the grass while two ponytailed girls jump rope right behind them. There's lots to color in this backyard scene. A fourth child in a heart-print shirt and a headband sits at the top of a slide on a little wooden play tower with a ladder. The background has a big leafy tree, a wooden picket fence, fluffy clouds and patches of flowers. Down in the lower left corner, a backpack and a water bottle rest beside a wooden bench. Older kids can work on the details like the boys' sneakers, shorts and hoodie, plus the patterned ball. Bright greens suit the grass and tree, and a classic black and white ball goes well with red or blue sneakers. This free printable fits a classroom activity or a quiet afternoon at home. - 1Start with the big grass areas in grass green, covering the lawn and the ground around the kids, and leave the soccer ball white.
- 2Color the tree leaves and bushes in leaf green and forest green, and the tree trunk in tan.
- 3Fill the fence and the playhouse walls with tan and pale yellow, and paint the slide in royal blue with the roof in bright red and light brown.
- 4Color the kids' clothes: sky blue shirt for the boy, sunny yellow and lavender purple shirts for the jump rope girls, rose pink for the slide girl, and gray for the hoodie, with navy blue and royal blue shorts.
- 5Add skin peach to faces, arms and legs, then use dark brown for the curly hair and auburn brown for the boy's hair, leaving the eyes and the soccer ball white.
- 6Optional: Finish with small details like the backpack, the bottle in bright red, and the ladder in golden yellow for a bright, cheerful look.
