Kitten Sitting Behind a Strawberry Cake
Coloring guide
A big-eyed kitten with a striped forehead and tail sits on a wooden chair at a round table, both front paws on the edge next to a tall frosted cake. Icing drips down the cake, strawberries circle the top, one large strawberry sits in the center, and small cream swirls fill the spaces between the fruit. Round beads run along the bottom edge of the plate. In the background, a potted plant sits on a shelf at upper left, and the right side holds a window with a cloud outline and a cabinet with a drawer. Big open areas on the cake and chair suit small hands, and the whiskers and strawberry seeds keep older kids busy. Red and pink strawberries, pale yellow icing and an orange striped kitten would look great. It's a free printable for a rainy afternoon or a birthday party table. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the cat's head, body, and paws in golden orange, leaving the eye whites and the nose area white.
- 2Color the chair, cabinet, and counter in warm brown, and the wall in light tan for a cozy kitchen feel.
- 3Fill the cake's middle layer in cream and the frosting, drips, and swirls in pink, keeping the little highlights white.
- 4Color the strawberries in strawberry red, leaving the small seed-like dots and tops as they are, then add the plate in pale blue with sky blue along the rim.
- 5Add the plant leaves in forest green and lime green, the pot in denim blue, and the window sky in pale blue with lime green bushes.
- 6Optional: Add a few tangerine stripes on the cat's head and tail for a tabby look, and a little extra shading under the cake for depth.
