Lantern-Holding Snowman in the Night Forest

In a snowy forest at night, a snowman lifts a small candle lantern in one stick arm while the other hangs at his side. His tall top hat is decorated with a holly leaf and berries, his long striped scarf has fringed ends, and he has a carrot nose, round eyes and three big belly buttons. Snow-covered fir trees fill the background, with a crescent moon and a few little stars overhead, and small bare twigs poke out of the snowy mounds up front. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the snowy ground and background patches: color the snow areas around the snowman and along the bottom in ice blue, and add sky blue to the small patch at the bottom right.
- 2Fill the pine trees on both sides with forest green, leaving the snowy tips and cap areas white.
- 3Color the top hat charcoal gray and its band cherry red, then fill the scarf with alternating cherry red and bright green stripes, with olive green at the right end.
- 4Give the carrot nose bright orange, make the three buttons charcoal gray, and color the arms and hands warm brown.
- 5Fill the lantern in cherry red, add pale yellow to the glowing center with a cream candle and golden yellow flame, and keep the snowman's body, face and eyes white.
- 6Optional: add a little darker shading on the snow and tree edges for extra depth.
