Leaping Sea Lion Splashing Through the Ocean

Coloring guide
Here a cheerful sea lion arcs up out of the water, head turned to the side with a wide open-mouthed smile, sparkling round eyes and long whiskers. Its front flippers reach out wide and the tail flippers point down toward the waves, which gives the feeling of a real mid-leap. Droplets and big splashes fly around the animal and burst up along the bottom of the page. Rows of wavy lines make the sea, a straight horizon runs across, and two small clouds sit on either side. Large shapes and clean lines make it a good match for young children and classrooms. Try smooth gray or warm brown on the sea lion, then light and dark blues in the water so the splashes stand out. It's a free printable that also starts a good chat about ocean animals. Love this Seals & Sea Lions coloring page? You might also enjoy our Dinosaurs and Goat coloring pages.

- 2Fill the seal's muzzle with soft cream, leaving the eye whites and teeth white.
- 3Color the two clouds on the horizon and the water splashes and droplets with sky blue.
- 4Keep the wave lines, the sea background and the small highlights white so the splashes stand out.
- 5Optional: Add a few darker gray strokes along the lower body and flippers to give the seal a bit of depth.
