Library Reading Time With Charmander
Coloring guide
Seated on a round stool, Charmander holds an open book in both hands and reads with a calm, curious look. Its big eyes stay on the pages while the flame at the tip of its curled tail flickers behind. Two shelves of tall and short books of all sizes line the wall, and the corner of a table pokes in from the left edge. Thick outlines and large open areas keep it simple for younger kids, and the rows of book spines give older kids small shapes to fill with patterns. Orange with a cream belly works for Charmander, with bright reds and yellows in the flame and cool blues and greens across the books. No sign-up is needed to print it. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Color Charmander's body, tail, and legs with orange, leaving the wall and shelves for later.
- 2Fill the belly and both feet with pale yellow, then add the lemon yellow tip to the flame on the tail.
- 3Color the flame with vermilion and the stool seat with chocolate brown, then fill the stool legs with caramel brown.
- 4Color the open book's cover with royal blue and the book edges with the same blue, keeping the pages white.
- 5Fill the bookshelf books with a mix of red, leaf green, indigo, sky blue, amber, and butter yellow, leaving some spines white.
- 6Optional: Add a little darker shading on the orange body and brown stool for depth, and keep the eye whites and background white.
