Lion Cub Reaching Up Toward a Flying Bug

A young lion cub sits on its haunches with its head tipped back, eyes looking up at a small insect hovering in the top left corner of the page. One front paw is lifted off the ground as if the cub is about to swat at it, while the other front paw stays planted in front. The cub has a few short tufts of fur on top of its head, round ears, and a tail that curls up with a fluffy tip. The bug has two wings, a segmented body, and thin legs. The big open spaces and clear outlines make this easy for younger kids to color. Try golden yellows and tans for the cub, then pick a bright color like green or orange for the bug so it stands out. You could also ask kids to guess what the cub is thinking.
