Little Birds Perched on a Snowman's Arm
Coloring guide
In a snowy yard, a snowman in a tall top hat grins out with big round eyes and a long carrot nose. His striped scarf has fringed ends, and three round buttons run down his tummy. One twig arm reaches out to the side, while two small birds perch side by side on the other, chirping at each other. Up above, a little wooden bird feeder full of seeds hangs from a snow-covered tree branch, with bare bushes and soft snowy mounds behind him. The big open shapes, like the hat and round body, are easy for small hands, and the scarf stripes and feeder details give older kids more to do. Red and green stripes suit the scarf, and bright yellow or blue birds will stand out against the snow. A free printable that is a lovely quiet-time activity on a winter day. - 1Start with the bird bodies, the two birds on the branch, in soft yellow, leaving their eyes and wing details for later.
- 2Color the scarf in alternating bright red and forest green stripes, and fill the scarf tails the same way.
- 3Fill the top hat in charcoal black, then add the bright red band around it and leave the snow on top of the hat white.
- 4Color the feeder roof with bright red and brick red, and fill the feeder tray with caramel.
- 5Color the carrot nose in carrot orange and the branches in chocolate brown and rust brown.
- 6Finish with the buttons in bright red, leaving the snowman, snow, and eye whites white. Optional: add a little warm gray shading on the hat for depth.
