A small bird in a full diving helmet and suit is helping out a friend underwater. The diver has a big striped beak, flippers, an air tank on its back and a first aid bag with a cross on the front. One hand gently holds the curled tail of a seahorse, and there's a bandage wrapped around it. The seahorse smiles and watches, with a spotted face, a ridged back and a little fin. Tall wavy seaweed fills the background, and bubbles drift up around the helmet. Younger kids will like the large shapes, while the bubbles and seaweed offer older kids smaller spots to fill in. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big areas: color the diver's suit body and arms in royal blue, and the bird's helmet top and rim in yellow.
- 2Fill the seaweed and grass in leaf green and grass green, leaving a few blades white for contrast.
- 3Color the seahorse's body and head in orange and golden yellow, with its fin and crest in pale yellow.
- 4Paint the first aid bag in bright red, leave the cross white, and add bright blue to the gloves and the bird's sides.
- 5Use sky blue on the air tank, porthole and the bird's face, then add the sand beige and lemon yellow bandage details on the seahorse.
- 6Optional: Add a little dark gray on the air tank valve and a pale aqua touch on the face for a bit of shading. Keep the eye whites, shine spots and bubbles white.
