Baby Fox with a Halloween Jack-o'-Lantern on a Moonlit Path

A gentle color plan to get started — mix in your own anytime.

• bright orange
• sand tan
• forest green
• light pink
• pale cream
• reddish brown
• salmon pink
• taupe brown
• golden yellow
• charcoal gray

A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.

1. 1Start with the fox's body, head, arm, and tail in bright orange, leaving the eye whites, eye shine, and the background bushes white.
2. 2Fill the inside of both ears and the tip of the tail with light pink and pale cream, as shown in the example.
3. 3Color the trees in forest green and their trunks in reddish brown, keeping the snowy bushes at their base white.
4. 4Use sand tan for the winding path and taupe brown for the little stepping stones along it.
5. 5Color the jack-o'-lantern orange, add golden yellow teeth, and make the stem charcoal gray. Leave the glowing lines around it white.
6. 6Optional: Add salmon pink to the open mouth and pale cream to the fox's feet and chest for a soft, cute finish.
