A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.

1. 1Start with the big red areas: color Santa's suit, hat and trousers with bright red.
2. 2Fill the armchair with emerald green, including its arms, back and base.
3. 3Color the girl's sweater and boots in rose pink, and her jeans in denim blue.
4. 4Use dark brown for Santa's boots and light brown for the girl's hair, then add a peach tint to the faces and hands.
5. 5Color the star, belt buckle and tree ornaments in golden yellow, and leave the beard, fur trim and pompoms white.
6. 6Optional: Add a little shading with a darker shade of each color along the folds of Santa's suit and the armchair.
