Little House Math Pixel Art on a Square Grid
Coloring guide
On a square grid sits a little house built from stair-stepped pixel lines, ready to be colored one block at a time. The pointed roof climbs in blocky steps and has a tall narrow chimney on the right. Under the roof you'll see a front door with a round doorknob and a four-pane window. To the right of the house, a tall tree has a rounded, pixelated leafy top and a straight trunk. Small tufts of grass are drawn at the bottom left, in the middle and on the far right. Every shape follows the grid lines, so the page is good for counting squares, practicing symmetry or seeing how pixel art gets made. Warm red for the roof, bright blue for the window panes and two shades of green for the tree and grass look nice. Print or download it free for class or a rainy day. Looking for more? A gentle color plan to get started — mix in your own anytime.
- sky blue
- grass green
- forest green
- chocolate brown
- cherry red
- soft yellow
A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the sky blue: fill the background squares around the house, the tree, and along the top edge, leaving the house and roof squares white.
- 2Color the bottom row and the grass tufts at the base of the house and tree with grass green.
- 3Fill the tree crown and its top section with forest green, leaving the outer rim squares white for a leafy outline.
- 4Color the door with chocolate brown, and fill the flower bed squares under the window and to the right of the house with soft yellow.
- 5Add the cherry red stripe across the roof under the peak, and fill the window panes with sky blue.
- 6Optional: Add a little extra shading in the sky with a slightly darker blue, or a second shade of green on the tree, for depth.
