A small mouse in a big fluffy bonnet hurries along, carrying a boxy suitcase in one hand. The other arm reaches out in front, like it's pointing or waving. Its mouth makes a little "oh!" and the long whiskers fan out. The puffy-sleeved dress has fur-style trim at the cuffs and hem, and the feet are caught mid-step. With no background, little ones can focus on the character alone. Soft pink or sky blue would suit the bonnet and dress, while a red or brown suitcase will stand out nicely. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Fill the big red areas first in coral red: the bonnet flap, the mouse's shirt, the shoulder strap, the tail and the red patch by the hip.
- 2Color the suitcase front, side and bottom edge in sky blue, leaving the stripes for later.
- 3Use light gray for the head, ears, hands, legs and feet, and leave the eye whites white.
- 4Color the fur trims in cream: the bonnet's top edge, the arm fur, the hip and leg fluff, and the inner ear.
- 5Finish with golden yellow on the suitcase stripes and the small handle tip.
- 6Optional: add a few darker strokes of light gray along the lower edges of the head and legs for a bit of depth.
