Log Cabin With Stone Chimney for Presidents' Day
Coloring guide
This detailed scene shows a cozy log cabin on a grassy hill. Round-ended logs are stacked at the corners, and the steep roof is made of long planks. A tall stone chimney rises from the roof. The front door has a small round knob and a step, with a four-pane window on each side. A leafy deciduous tree stands behind the cabin on the left and a tall evergreen on the right, bushes sit at both sides of the house, and tufts of grass dot the yard. A split-rail wooden fence runs along the bottom. The free printable PDF could go well with a Presidents' Day lesson about early American homes. Browns work well for the logs, grays for the chimney stones, and fresh greens for the trees and lawn. Kids can also practice shading the wood grain. Love this Presidents' Day coloring page? - dark brown
- forest green
- lime green
- brick red
- sky blue
- light gray

A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big foliage areas: color the large tree on the left and the pine tree on the right in grass green and forest green, then the bushes and grass tufts in the same greens.
- 2Fill the log walls, fence posts and fence rails with warm brown, keeping the log ends a honey orange for a nice contrast.
- 3Color the roof and the tree trunks in dark brown, then add chestnut brown to the door frame and window sills.
- 4Paint the window panes in sky blue and the door in brick red, leaving the small highlight on the door handle white.
- 5Color the chimney stones in light gray and its top in brick red, and add lime green to the small grass tufts and the fence rail ends.
- 6Optional: Add a little extra shading to the log ends and the roof planks with a darker shade of warm brown for depth. Leave the background white.
