Male Lion With Flowing Mane Standing Proudly

A grown male lion stands on a sloping ground line, head turned to the left with a serious, narrowed-eye look. His thick mane sweeps back over his neck and shoulders, with a pointed tuft on top of his head, and shaggy fur hangs down his chest. One front paw is lifted mid-step, and the other three paws rest on the ground with the toes clearly drawn. Whiskers fan out from his muzzle, and his tail curls up at the back and ends in a small tuft. This page is a nice pick for kids who like The Lion King. Try warm golden tans for the body and a darker brown or deep red for the mane so the shaggy edges stand out. It also works well for talking about how a lion's mane sets him apart from a lioness.
