Rainbow Sky with Mama and Baby Helicopters
Coloring guide
Two smiling cartoon helicopters fly side by side here. The big one has long eyelashes, and the little one stays close beside her. Both have big sparkly eyes, happy open mouths and rounded cockpit windows, with rotors spinning on top and small propellers on their tail ends. A wide rainbow arcs across the sky behind them, with a puffy cloud at each end. Rolling hills with little flowers and tufts of grass sit below, and one more cloud peeks in at the bottom right corner. Thick, clean outlines and roomy shapes help preschoolers and early elementary kids practice staying inside the lines. Bright red for the big helicopter and sunny yellow for the little one will pop against a blue sky. You can print it at home with no sign-up. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the rainbow: color the bands from the top down in tomato red, golden yellow, lime green and bright blue, leaving a little white space between each stripe.
- 2Fill the two fluffy clouds with pale blue, then color the hills in lime green and the bushes and far hills in forest green, keeping the sky white.
- 3Color the big helicopter's cabin golden yellow, its tail, side panel and mast tomato red, and its blades and skids bright blue, leaving the eye whites and leg highlights white.
- 4Fill the small helicopter's cabin golden yellow, its blades, skids and tail in bright blue, and color its rotor hub and tail hub golden yellow.
- 5Add the coral pink flowers on the bottom hill and fill the two helicopter windows with light sky blue.
- 6Optional: add a few darker strokes of deep blue along the bottom of the big helicopter's skids and a little shading on the hills to make them pop.
