Lakeside Kite Picnic Mother's Day Coloring Page
Coloring guide
Sitting together on a checkered picnic blanket under a big leafy tree, a smiling mother and her young daughter look up while they fly a diamond-shaped kite with a bow-tied tail. Butterflies and little birds flutter across the sky and soft clouds drift above. Past them, a calm lake with a small sailboat stretches toward distant mountains and pine trees. The blanket holds a woven picnic basket, a bowl of grapes and apples, a plate of sandwiches, a bowl of strawberries and a flowered pitcher full of blooms. Daisies and wildflowers fill the foreground. It makes a lovely Mother's Day activity, with enough detail for different skill levels. A red and yellow kite looks great against a light blue sky. The free printable PDF needs no sign-up. - 2Color the distant mountains soft lavender and the far blue mountains and lakeside trees in teal and light sky blue.
- 3Fill the big tree trunk with chestnut brown and the leaves with leaf green and lime green, leaving the highlights white.
- 4Color the mother's and girl's skin peach skin, the mother's hair chestnut brown, the mother's clothes soft lavender, and the girl's overalls ocean blue with a blush pink shirt, keeping the eyes white.
- 5Add the picnic details: the basket cloth in lavender purple, the kite in golden yellow and cornflower blue, the fruit with tomato red and lime green, and the checkered tablecloth in salmon pink and coral pink with white squares.
- 6Optional: Add a little shading with a darker shade of each main color on the tree trunk and mother's clothes to make them look more dimensional.
