Mount Rushmore Presidents' Day Coloring Page
Coloring guide
Four giant faces carved into a rocky mountainside fill this Mount Rushmore page, with puffy clouds in the sky above and rows of evergreen trees below. All the faces look the same direction. One has wavy swept-back hair and a high collar, and another wears small round glasses and a bushy mustache. The last has a beard and a bow tie. The rock is drawn in large rounded sections, so there's lots of room to color. Soft grays, tans and warm browns suit the stone, and deep green and light blue work for the pines and sky. It's a good free printable for a Presidents' Day lesson or a quiet afternoon at the table, especially for kids who like landmarks and nature scenes. Add this to your Presidents' Day coloring page collection, alongside Halloween and Gingerbread House.
A gentle color plan to get started — mix in your own anytime.
- soft gray
- forest green
- peach skin
- taupe gray
A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the four presidents' faces and skin areas in peach skin, leaving the eye whites, and any tiny highlights on the cheeks and foreheads, white.
- 2Fill the large rock faces, coats, and mountain slopes with soft gray, working from the top of the mountain down to the bottom.
- 3Color the pine trees in the front and sides with forest green, leaving the snowy tips and small white highlights on the branches untouched.
- 4Use taupe gray on the darker shadow areas, such as the hair, beards, and the rock folds under the faces.
- 5Leave the sky and the fluffy clouds white, and finish by adding details like the glasses, collars, and bow tie.
- 6Optional: Add a little extra shading by going over the soft gray rocks a second time with darker strokes near the shadowed edges.
