Muzzle Flash Action With Halo's Master Chief
Coloring guide
Leaning back in the middle of a fight, this armored soldier fires a submachine gun with one hand while the other raises a smaller pistol-like weapon near his shoulder. Jagged muzzle flash lines and tiny sparks burst from the barrel and streak toward the upper left, giving the page real energy. He looks like Master Chief, drawn from the waist up with a curved-visor helmet, layered shoulder plates, a chest piece and segmented arm armor. The white space around him is easy to work with, since there's no background and the armor details are the focus. Olive green armor, a gold visor, and bright yellow and orange for the flash would do the job. The free PDF prints at home for a screen-free activity. - moss green
- charcoal gray
- olive green
- golden yellow
- light gray
- steel gray
- dark olive
A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big body areas: fill the arms, shoulders, torso, and legs with moss green, leaving the open white gaps between armor pieces untouched.
- 2Add olive green to the boots, the right forearm, the right wrist, and the shoulder pad to make the armor look layered.
- 3Use dark olive on the small hip and leg panels for a touch of depth.
- 4Color the gun, pistol, hands, waist, belt, and groin area with charcoal gray, and use light gray on the gun sight, gun body, and pistol.
- 5Fill the top of the helmet and its visor area with golden yellow, and color the chest emblem and gun barrel band with steel gray.
- 6Optional: Add a little extra shading in the corners of the armor with a darker pencil stroke, but keep the background and muzzle flash white.
