Eyes gently closed and head tucked down, this smiling sea turtle looks like it's enjoying a peaceful nap on the sand by the water. Large patterned sections divide the shell, and little round spots cover the flippers. A leaning palm tree with a striped trunk, big fronds and a small bunch of coconuts arches overhead. Ocean waves roll along the horizon behind, and a sun with rays and three puffy clouds fill the sky. Along the bottom you'll find two starfish, two scallop-style seashells, a spiral shell and a scatter of small pebbles. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the turtle head and the flippers in light green, leaving the closed-eye lines and the smile unpainted.
- 2Color the big shell plates in forest green, and fill the shell rim and the sand-colored edges around the shell in golden yellow.
- 3Paint the sea and the sea edge on the right in ocean blue, then add the sky and clouds in pale blue, keeping the sky background white if you like.
- 4Color the palm trunk in tan brown and the coconuts in dark brown, then fill the palm fronds in grass green.
- 5Add the sun in golden yellow, the starfish in orange, and the shells in pink, lavender purple and grass green.
- 6Optional: Add the small spots on the shell, head and flippers in forest green and grass green for a speckled look.
