Sandwich Picnic for Nella the Princess Knight and a Baby Dragon
Coloring guide
Nella sits cross-legged on a checkered picnic blanket with her hair in a braided crown, holding a sandwich and smiling at the baby dragon next to her. The little dragon has small horns, wings, a spiked tail and a wide grin, and it's holding a sandwich of its own while it looks back at her. A plate of sandwich halves sits in front of them between two apples, with a third apple close by and a woven picnic basket at the left edge. A tree, rounded bushes and small flowers fill in the grass behind. Her armor has shoulder plates and a fleur-de-lis emblem, a nice spot for some bright detail. Silver-blue armor and a soft green dragon will stand out well against a red-and-white blanket. It's a free PDF, so print a few spare copies if you like. - 1Start with the big grass and tree areas: color the background grass and the left grass with lime green, and the tree canopy with leaf green.
- 2Color the dragon body and tail in bright red, then fill its belly, feet and paws with butter yellow.
- 3Fill the princess's blue cape, tabard and pants with royal blue, using slate blue in the shadowed parts of her legs and navy blue along the cape edge.
- 4Paint the picnic apples and the sandwiches: apples in bright red, sandwich bread in butter yellow, and leave the sandwich plate white.
- 5Finish with the details: hair braid in dark brown and golden brown, golden yellow trims on the armor and wings, and the basket in honey brown. Leave the dragon eye shine white. Optional: add a little darker shading on the blanket checks.
