Nested Hearts With Scalloped Edge Border

Coloring guide
Three hearts sit inside one another in this simple line drawing. The outermost heart has a wavy, scalloped edge that looks a bit like a paper doily or ruffled lace. Just inside it is a larger smooth-edged heart, and in the center is a smaller heart with plain rounded lines. Everything is outlined in clean, medium-weight black strokes with no extra decorations, so there is plenty of open space to fill in. The wide bands between the hearts are great for practicing careful coloring along curves. Try a different color for each layer, such as pink for the scalloped edge, red for the middle ring, and purple for the center. It also works well for a handmade card, where kids can color the shapes and write a message in the big middle heart. This free printable suits younger children who are working on staying inside the lines.
