Coloring guide

A rectangular flag outline holds a large round seal in the center. The ring around the edge reads SEAL OF THE STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE, with 1776 and two tiny stars at the bottom. Inside is a laurel wreath framing a sailing ship with tall masts, banners flying, and a row of oars along the hull. Rays of a rising sun spread behind the ship, and water and rocky ground sit in front. Outside the seal, nine stars alternate with small laurel branches around the circle. A fun idea is to color the sun rays in warm yellows and oranges, then use blues and grays for the water and shoreline. Teachers could also use it during a state symbols lesson, letting kids count the stars and find the date on the seal. The wide open space around the seal makes it easy to color the background any shade you like.
