One Big Basketball Resting on the Floor
Coloring guide
Just one big basketball sits in the middle of this page, drawn with thick, bold outlines that small hands can follow easily. It has the classic curved seam lines, which break the ball into a few large sections that feel simple and satisfying to color. A flat oval shadow lies beneath it, and two straight court lines run out toward the left and right edges. With no players, hoops or crowds, the ball gets all the attention. Younger kids and basketball fans will like it, and it makes a quick activity before or after game day. The free printable PDF is ready for regular paper. Try bright orange for the ball with black seam lines, then warm light brown or golden yellow for the floor lines and shadow so the ball pops. A gentle color plan to get started — mix in your own anytime.
- bright orange
- sky blue
- warm tan
A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the two floor strips on the left and right sides, filling them with warm tan and leaving the middle of the floor white.
- 2Color the blue base under the ball with sky blue, leaving a little white near its top edge for a light touch.
- 3Fill every panel of the basketball with bright orange, staying inside the black lines and keeping the lines themselves untouched.
- 4Leave the background around the ball and the white gaps along the floor lines uncolored so the ball stands out.
- 5Optional: add light diagonal strokes in a slightly darker orange across the ball panels to give it a textured, sketchy look.
