A laughing, spiky-haired boy tumbles through the air with both arms flung wide, and a smiling otter dives and swims right beside him. His long-sleeved creature-power-style suit has a big paw print on the chest, dotted sleeves, padded knees and chunky striped boots. Splashes, round bubbles and wavy ripples fill the bottom and sides of the page, while grassy tufts and bumpy banks sit behind. The otter has whiskers, a cheerful open mouth and a long curved tail. With so many bubbles and splashes, it's a great pick for kids who love coloring water. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the grass and bushes in the background using grass green, leaving the splashes and the eye shines white.
- 2Color the boy's hair warm brown and his face and hands skin peach, keeping the eye whites bright white.
- 3Fill the boy's suit with royal blue on the top and bright sky blue on the pants and sleeves, then add golden yellow knee pads, shoulder strap, collar, and the paw emblem on his chest.
- 4Color the otter's body and tail warm brown, its cheek light peach, and its mouth coral pink.
- 5Paint the shoes with royal blue and cream yellow toes, then fill the water splashes with pale blue and light sky blue.
- 6Optional: add a little darker blue along the bottom of the suit and the otter's belly to give the drawing more depth.
