Safari Girl Petting a Baby Cheetah, Wild Kratts Page
Coloring guide
Kneeling in tall savanna grass, a smiling girl with curly hair gently pats a spotted baby cheetah on the head. She's dressed for safari in a wide-brimmed hat, a buttoned shirt with chest pockets, shorts with a cargo pocket and a backpack. The cub sits upright next to her with a happy face, a curled tail and lots of round dots all over. An acacia tree stands on the horizon behind them, with a few puffy clouds above. The grass blades are drawn large, so little hands have lots of room to color. Golden yellow and orange are good for the cheetah, with black dots, and khaki or olive green fit the explorer outfit. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Color the left cloud at the top with sky blue, and leave the other clouds, the sky, and the tree's top highlights white.
- 2Fill the grass, bushes, and the tree canopy with light green, then use grass green for the darker blades of grass in the front and on the right.
- 3Use light tan for the girl's safari hat, shirt, shorts, and sleeves, and brown for the hat band, backpack, and tree trunk.
- 4Color the girl's face and arms with warm orange and her curly hair with dark brown, then fill the cheetah's head and body with golden yellow and its ears with coral pink.
- 5Add cream to the cheetah's muzzle and tail tip, a rose pink smile for the girl, and keep the eye whites white for a bright, friendly look.
- 6Optional: Add a little darker brown along the shadowed sides of the hat and backpack for depth.
