Owl Mama and Her Three Fluffy Owlets

In a woven twig nest, a big-eyed mother owl sits tall while her rounded wings curve around three fluffy owlet chicks tucked in front. Each baby has big round eyes, a tiny beak and a little tuft of feathers on its head, and the middle one sits a bit lower than the other two. Mom has scalloped feather marks on her chest, pointed ear tufts and a cheerful open beak. The nest rests on a thick tree branch with a few leaves, and another leafy twig curls in from the top left corner. All those twisted nest strands and feather patterns make plenty of small spaces to color. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Color the owl's body and the owlets' bodies with cream, leaving the owl's two big eye whites untouched.
- 2Fill the owl's wings and the owlets' wings with rust brown, and the tree branch at the bottom with dark brown.
- 3Color the nest twigs with tan, working around the nest so the twigs look woven together.
- 4Color the three leaves with leaf green, then add the top-left branch in dark brown.
- 5Color the beaks of the owl and the owlets with golden yellow, and the center owlet's head with pale orange.
- 6Optional: Add a little darker shading under the wings and nest with rust brown to make the drawing look more rounded.
