Penguin Standing With Flippers Spread Wide

Coloring guide
A single penguin stands upright with its head turned up and to the side, one flipper stretched out to the right and the other held out to the left. The beak is slightly open at the tip, and a round eye sits in a patch of curved markings on the face. A wavy band of lines runs from the head down the neck and along the chest, separating the belly from the darker back. The feet at the bottom show small toes with sharp claws, and a pointed tail reaches out behind. The outlines are bold and the shapes are big, so it works well for younger kids with chunky crayons. Try leaving the belly white and coloring the face patches and back in different shades, then talk about why penguins have two-tone coloring. The free printable page also fits a quick lesson on birds that swim instead of fly.
