Picnic Table Feast for the 4th of July
Coloring guide
A wooden picnic table sits under a big leafy tree, covered with a checkered cloth and piled with summer food. You'll spot a large watermelon wedge with seeds on a plate, a lemonade pitcher with lemon slices and ice cubes floating in it, and a plate of three hot dogs with squiggles of mustard or ketchup. Two ears of corn and three frosted cupcakes with tiny flags in the tops round out the spread. Grass tufts and rolling bushy hills fill the background. The small squares of the tablecloth are fun to fill in, and red and blue give it a patriotic feel next to yellow lemons and a juicy pink watermelon. It's free to print for coloring fans of all ages. Add this to your 4th of July coloring page collection, alongside Happy Birthday and Spring.

- 1Start with the big grass areas: color the lower grass and the grass tufts in lime green, and the bushes on both sides in bright grass green.
- 2Fill the tree fork with bright grass green and the trunk and table legs with wood brown, leaving the leaves outlined and white.
- 3Color the watermelon flesh cherry red, its rind forest green, and the seeds stay white or get a quick dark touch.
- 4Paint the lemonade in lemon yellow, the pitcher rim and handle in pale sky blue, and the ice cubes in cream white.
- 5Add the hot dogs in golden yellow with tangerine orange buns, and the cupcake frosting in cream white.
- 6Finish the red and pink checks on the tablecloth, leaving the white squares untouched. Optional: add a little deep red shading along the edges of the tablecloth for depth.
