Piggy Bank With Star Coins, Presidents' Day Printable
Coloring guide
A happy piggy bank stands with a smile, big round eyes and a curly tail, and a coin slot runs along the top of its back. Three large coins rest in front of its feet. Each has a ring of small stars around the edge and a head in profile in the middle. Two of the heads look like a boy's and one has a ponytail like a girl's. The ridged edges give the coins a chunky, stacked look. There's no background, so the page stays clean and uncluttered. It's a good fit for a Presidents' Day lesson on money, saving or coins, and the bold outlines work well for younger kids. Soft pink for the pig and gold and silver for the coins will make the star rings and little faces stand out. This free page is easy to print or download, and a few extra copies never hurt. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start by filling the whole pig body and its legs with a soft pink, leaving the small highlight on the back of the head and the gap between the legs white.
- 2Color the snout, inner ears, tail and the front legs and hooves with a rose pink to make the pig's details stand out.
- 3Fill the three coins with a golden yellow for the background, then use a pale yellow for the faces and the girl's hair bun.
- 4Color the coin rims and the bottom edges with a deep gold so the coins look shiny and three-dimensional.
- 5Leave the eye whites and the tail shine white so the pig looks lively and bright.
- 6Optional: Add a little darker shading on the edges of the coins and under the pig's belly with a slightly deeper gold or pink to add depth.
