Pirate Climbing a Big Rope Net on Ship

A pirate in a bandana and a long, tattered coat is caught in the middle of a large rope net, climbing with one fist gripping the ropes. He has a mustache and a small braided beard, and dark hair hangs down from under his headscarf. His loose pants, big cuffed boots and ragged coat edges are all drawn with plenty of folds and creases. The thick twisted ropes cross the whole page and are tied off with knots at the joints, so there are lots of diamond-shaped gaps to fill. A solid black shape near his raised hand gives a strong dark contrast. Try browns and tans for the rope, then use deeper colors on the coat and boots so he stands out from the net. This free page also works well for talking about knots and how sailors climbed rigging.
