Handstand Time for a Panda Cub in the Grass

Caught in the middle of a handstand, this cheerful panda cub kicks its back feet up high, round paw pads showing, with a fluffy little tail peeking out between them. Its big-eyed face tilts toward you with a wide open smile and a small round nose, while the front paws are planted in the grass. A leafy bush sits on the left, with a few grass tufts and two daisy-style flowers with stems and leaves along the bottom edge. Big, bold shapes make this free printable a good fit for preschoolers and early elementary kids still building pencil control. Black on the ears, eye patches and legs looks right, with the belly and face left white. Pink paw pads and soft yellow and purple daisies make the bottom of the page pop. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big brown areas: color the cub's body, head, arms and paws with caramel brown, leaving the eye whites white.
- 2Fill the bush on the left and the grass-like leaves of the flowers and bush with leaf green.
- 3Color the purple flower petals with violet purple and the flower center with golden yellow.
- 4Use hot pink for the bottom-right flower petals and light pink for the paw pads, toes, inner ears and the mouth.
- 5Add the cream tuft on top of the cub's back, then leave the eye shine highlights and the small gap in the flower stem white.
- 6Optional: Add a few darker brown strokes along the edges of the body and head to give the cub a little depth.
