Pond Fairy with Frogs on a Lily Pad

Sitting on a big lily pad, a smiling little fairy with a flower crown in her updo dips her bare toes into the rippling pond. Her large veined wings spread behind her, and she wears a simple dress with a petal skirt. Two friendly frogs keep her company, one on a pad beside her and another on a pad at the bottom left. A dragonfly hovers in the top right corner, tall cattails frame the sides, and water lilies float near the bottom and left edges. Wings, petals, and lily pads mean both big spaces and small details, so it suits a range of ages. Soft lavender or pink wings, bright green frogs, and pale pink lily petals would look lovely, plus blue pencils for the ripples around her feet. Free to print. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Color the pond water around the lily pads with sky blue, leaving the small ripples near the fairy's feet as bright as you like.
- 2Fill the big lily pads and the grass stalks with leaf green, adding a few darker lines on the leaves for depth.
- 3Paint the fairy's face, arms, legs and hands with light peach, and use warm peach on the cheeks and inner parts of the skin.
- 4Color both sets of wings with light lavender, then add lavender purple to the flower in the hair and hot pink to the dress skirt.
- 5Fill the dress bodice with hot pink and the rest of the dress with soft pink, then color the hair and cattails warm brown and the frogs lime green and grass green.
- 6Color the lotus flowers soft pink and the dragonfly wings pale blue, and leave the small face highlight white. Optional: add a little darker shading under the wings and along the lily pad edges for depth.
