It's a happy summer splash as Tom and Jerry bob around in the water. On the left, Jerry sits in a small round swim ring, grinning with one arm up in a wave. Tom floats on the right in a larger inflatable ring with a toy animal head at the front and big polka dots all around. He's laughing with his mouth wide open and holding one foot high as if kicking up a splash. Wavy lines mark the water behind them and a few little bubbles float up front. The big dots and ring shapes are easy for small hands, and the bold character outlines suit beginners. Bright orange or yellow for Tom's ring, light blue for Jerry's, and soft blue for the waves would all look great. It's free to print, so make a few extra copies. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Color the sea behind and around the characters with sky blue, leaving small gaps for the wave lines.
- 2Fill the big green float with grass green, then add lime green to the lower body and tail.
- 3Color Tom's body, face, raised arm and head with slate gray, keeping his eye whites, open mouth and raised paw white.
- 4Fill Jerry's head, body and raised arm with warm brown, and color his ears coral pink.
- 5Add golden yellow to the two rings and the polka dots on the float, with pale yellow for the lighter spots.
- 6Optional: Add a little light gray shading on Tom's belly and under his chin for depth.
